Meet Our Team

  • Shayla D. Walker

    C.E.O & Founder

    Shayla has always had a passion for inspiring and helping BIPOC leaders reach their aspirations. With over 15 years of experience with career coaching and recruitment at all levels, conducting leadership and team professional development trainings within groups is what motivated her to create SDW Consulting & Training.

    Shayla has provided workshops to professional employees in various industries on conflict management, team building, strength assessments, and empathy in leadership. She has worked closely with classified staff and faculty at Fresno Unified School District, American River College, Sierra College, San Joaquin Delta College, Sacramento State and she has also presented at various leadership conferences throughout Northern California. Additionally, she has successfully helped clients with resume development, interview preparation and career coaching to assist individuals with reaching their professional goals. Shayla received both her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Media Communication and Masters of Arts in Higher Education Leadership at CSU Sacramento.

    Her favorite pastime is singing karaoke, binge watching movies on Netflix and spending quality time with family and friends.

  • Angelica Parpana

    Social Media Manager

    Angelica (She/Her) is a Filipino-American health care advocate. She currently works full time for a nonprofit dedicated to connecting vulnerable individuals with the care they need. Her long- standing commitment towards reducing inequities in the healthcare field is grounded in addressing social determinants of health. She is passionate about health and wellness and continues to serve underrepresented communities to improve access to quality health related resources. With an educational background in ethnic studies and health care services, she also manages social media for the Ohemaa Health and Wellness Podcast as well as graphic design for SDW Training and Consulting.
